Multi-million plans for Skegness submitted to government

The plans for Skegness - that set out a ten year vision and priorities for funding for the town - have now been submitted to government. You can read the submission here

The plans have been developed after the government announced that Skegness will receive up to £20M funding in the town over the next decade through the Pride in Place programme.

Local people have been at the very heart of these plans. Over 1,200 consultation responses from different sources as well as many conversations have shown what matters to local people. This feedback has shaped the plans that have been developed. You can find out more about the consultation here.

The priorities for funding are:

  • Safe and Well Skegness;
  • Skilled and Working Skegness;
  • Connected Skegness;
  • Leisure and Culture Skegness,
  • and Natural Skegness.

An overall vision for Skegness as ‘a place that works for its residents all year round’ is set out in the plans.

Thank you to everyone who has helped in the development of these important plans – and a huge thank you to local people for sharing their feedback to shape these plans.

A response from government to the plans is expected in early 2026 with the first lot of funding to be released in April 2026.  In the meantime, work is taking place to develop the projects in the first four years of investment and there will be further opportunities for local people to get involved.
